Here are some before and after photos of a restoration carried out by Olaf Grawert in 1991 to a Leopold Widhalm violin. Leopold Widhalm worked in Nürnberg Germany between 1746 till 1776
The top plate needed extensive restoration with a row of cracks underneath the chinrest and on the left f-hole.
The f-hole was a challenge with several cracks that needed a lot of cleaning.
when finished you cannot see that there had ever been damage.
